I have been looking for hours and cannot find what i am looking for.

I just put a 98 Explorer 8.8 not my 04 ranger in place of the 7.5

EVERYTHING is hooked up and good to go EXCEPT my e-brake.
I can't seem to get them to hook up to the ranger cable(from the pedal)

PLEASE, links, pics, etc. I need to get this back together and drivable(I have a 5 speed and live on hill)

I built a bracket and adjustable linkage to adapt the Ex cables to the existing pedal cable on my BII using some of the hardware from the Ex setup. This also helped to accommodate the shorter length of the Ex cables as well.

I believe Lokar has a kit to do this also (at least I know they used to), though I just figured on making mine since I already had the right parts just laying around.

Thanks Junkie.

After working on it for hours last night I THINK I found a spot to mount the explorer bracket.

but now the brand new passenger side cable keeps popping off the lever(at the wheel) Everytime I release the brake:mad:

I'd say check to make sure there isn't too much slack in the cables, and that the pedal self-adjuster is functioning properly.

I am pretty sure I figuered out the cable hoping off issue.

When i had the rear brakes apart and the E-brake lever apart to Un-seize it, I must have assembled the passenger side one wrong and it was not going all the way back to the release position and there for the cable could slide off the hook.

Went for a quick ride...

WOW, it stops on a dime now and I am pleased with my choice of the dura track post unit so far. Not grabby, but will easily spin the inside tire on a hard turn in gravel. Also the E-brake seems to hold better than the old drum brakes did

Glad to hear you got it figured out. :icon_thumby:
