I'm puting a set of explorer leaves in my ranger. I want to do new bushings at the same time. Do I use a set for ranger or for explorer? Energy suspension has two differant part numbers.

Explorer springs so use Explorer bushings, the shackles at the frame bracket will likely use different bushings tho.

Don't forget that you need the "X" bolt that goes in the lower part of the shackle/leafspring eye. Keep in mind that your Ranger might feel a bit "oversprung" after this. I did this to my BII, and it bounces the tail quite a bit more than it used to, but at least it doesn't look like it is dragging it's butt on the ground like it needs worming anymore.

That's funny, because when I replaced my springs with Explorer springs, my ride because a lot more controlled and less bouncy, even with the added height (gained almost 2" of measured height in the rear).

Just remember that any "lift" from an explorer spring swap isn't actually "lift"
it's reduction of sag.

So, you find it "funny" that my BIIs' ride is now "oversprung" feeling, but your Rangers' isn't. Congratulations. You have a "more controlled, less bouncy" ride now.

Didn't mean any offense. My use of the word "funny" could be replaced with "odd," "curious" or any number of other words. I'm not trying to laugh at your situation, just found it interesting that the same spring types would have such different results. Especially since your B2 is going to naturally load the rear springs more than my Ranger, which would usually smooth out the ride. I know that mine rides a lot smoother with a few hundred pounds in the bed.
