Hey guys, anybody that has purchased a disc brake rear exploader axle, What was the price you paid? cash for clunker put alot of exploaders in the boneyard and they should be cheaper.

Only 1 CFC boneyard around here with the strict guidelines on them and they think they are worth a mint..................

I've given $100 each for 3 different Explorer 8.8 w/3.73 LS before CFC, and I just checked last week & the goin price was $200 minimum!

Normally, $200 on up. Where I am going to school at, $100 for the full axle.

theres a couple here around denver,co that want 300$ plus- they told me it would be cheaper if i could remove the ring and pinion out of it in the yard- yea right without air tools. There is one yard i go to that is the cheapest around and when i got my ex8.8 it was only 75$ drum to drum. A friend of mine reciently went to the same yard and picked up a dana70 dully for a f350 and that only was 125$ and it had brand new brakes. Guess it depends on where you go and how common the parts are.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. I found an exploder that was mostly stripped already, and got the D35 and 8.8 for $100! and I used the guys o/a torch after mine ran out of juice..... Was looking for a 91-91 explorer dash the other day, and found a whole explorer(-Transmission) for $500 for the whole shebang..... Im tellin ya, CL is awesome for exploder parts! Going rate here is 200-250 for an axle out of one of the yards....

They average about $200 around here, up to $300 if they have 4.10's l/s etc because all the jeep guys are after them.

usually around $100 bucks at the Pull it youself yards up here...i did however buy one on craigslist for $50 :yahoo:

Paid 250 out of junkyard in columbus ohio, and they pulled it. Good thing though is that we do buisness with their parts and our body shop all the time so if its wrong or broke theyll give us a different one free of charge.

Also Im getting mine rebuilt new gears, and shortened for 400.

Don't forget to check the classifieds here on the forum. I just got mine from another forum memeber that was local for $175 + $25 for delivery.

Its a longshot, but that what I thought. LOL!
