Hey folks. Glad I came across this site. It will be a place I will be visiting lots...

Anyways. One quick question to anyone regarding a simple chorme exhaust tip for my 2002 Ranger Edge 2x4.

Someone correct me on this... Is their a Ranger model that has a 3" - 3.5" tailpipe.

I went to the local Ford dealership and ordered myself one and got it but it's way to big and the specs say it's the one for the Ranger. I've done some digging on the net and most aftermarket are the size I need. 2.25" - 2.5"

Did Ford screw up their ordering number. I've typed in the code for the tip they provided and it does say it's a genuine accessory by ford for the Ranger.

Any helpful info would be great.

Peace

Stock pipe should be about 2", but I have noticed that some Rangers have the tailpipe expanded for a couple inches around the outlet.

Exhaust Tip

I took it back to the dealer today. I went over to a new ranger and took a look. Apparently they are flared open to 3" now so I gave it back for a flowmaster one on order.

Kinda wierd they only make the one size and you have no choice to go aftermarket.

No big deal, problem solved.

Nothing wrong with aftermarket as long as you go stainless, I got my two stainless 18" long 3.5" dia Magnaflow tips for $40 a pop, a single optional chrome tip on a new F-150 is $300.

Almost a year later and they still look brand new.

Exhaust tip suggestion

The dealer can't find one.

I've got a 2.25" inlet that is flared 2.25" for around 6"
I've found two possible fits;

1. Gibson 500377
2. Pilot PLT-PM581

before I go over to the dealer and suggest one of these does anyone have a pipe diameter similar and can suggest a different model/make for a chrome bolt on exhaust tip. I'm sure their are others with the same pipe diameter that found one to fit.

I didn't think this would be such a pain but oh well. It's not like the truck can't drive without it.

Go to an exhaust shop, they'll have all the tips you'll ever need.
