Exhaust rattling

So I've had this rattling going on for quite a long time when I get to rpm's. Never really bothered me too much, but now that it's getting colder out it sounds like it's getting louder. Don't know if it being cold is making it louder or if it's just me. Anyway, reading through the "Known Problems for Rangers" thread, it's a heat shield rattling against the catalytic converter and can be fixed with worm clamps. What are those exactly? I'm assuming this is an easy fix (at least hoping) and shouldn't take very long. Thanks in advance.

You know what a hose clamp/gear clamp is? you can get big versions of those you can wrap around the shield and tighten it down.

local hardware stores have big 6 inch ones for the new type of polyproplene drain pipes, they look like a steel band with slots cut at an angle and a screw fitting on it, you can join two or more together, auto stores usally only have 3 inch clamps

The whole exhaust system has a series of heat shields. The cat heat-shield is not the ONLY one that breaks loose (or rots). Above my exhaust pipe was a 1' x 4' flat sheet-metal heat shield that's riveted to the underside of the cab, so I had to replace a few rivets on it. My other noisy heat-shield was above the muffler, attached to the underside of bed, and I had to replace it too. So quiet now. Ahhhhh......
