exhaust manifold

I have the 1988 2.0 liter engine, there is a flex tube going to my breather duct from the exhaust. I want to know if there is any way to plug it. the sheet metal housing around the manifold is old and rusted. I am going to get a new carb that won't use the same air cleaner so i would like to plug it.

It is a warm-up air supply and you can just remove the whole thing...should not need it in Mississippi...I took mine off years ago too...
