I am changing my heads and want to replace the exhaust manifold and collector studs at the same time.

I went to the stealer and they want $10 per exhaust stud, $4 per nut and $15 per collector manifold stud, over $200... I walked out

Anyone know where to purchase studs that will work or know the sizes that will ?

I think the collector bolts are M12 x 1.75...

Mine didnt have studs, but rather bolts for the exhaust manifold. I dont recall the size on those though.

The Manifolds uses a special "Truncated root" thread to make the bolts
self-locking (kinda silly on an exhaust manifold whch will RUST)

Yes the threads are 12x1.75.

I strongly recommend (at minimum) running a thread cutting tap through the exhaust manifold and then substituting conventional thread bolts (which will NOT be such a complete BASTARD to remove later)

The manifold bolts (that hold the manifolds to the head) are 8x1.25 and on those I recommend drilling and tapping the heads to accept english 5/16-18 blts which are usually available in a greater variety of lengths (finding metric bolts the right length can be a PITA even for an exceptional scrounger like myself)

I really recommend using helicoils on exhaust threads because it reduces
headaches later.

Found Studs and collector bolts at ACE

I order most of the exhaust studs from a local independent autoparts place: they were a suppler of Dorman products. I also went to ACE hardware and behold they had hardend metric bolts and studs of automotive variety. saved about $150 compared to dealer price.

I always recommend using Anti-Zeze (spelling is eluding me) from permantex on exhaust bolts.
