hey guys. my b2 has an issue. periodically my passenger side exhaust manifold hits my frame.

i remember a few years ago i broke it when i hit a small step on the top part of a hill. kinda had to get a running start and thats when it popped.

how is this problem fixed?
headers?
solid motor mounts?
spacers on the stock motor mounts or something?

Haha...

I'm sure you have a broken motor mount. Just replace it...

Its gotta be a bad mount.

If it needed a spacer then every one of them would do it. Same with the header.

ya thats what i figured. haven't really looked into it hard yet, but its not a difficult thing to do is it? just use a hoist to take the weight off, and replace?

i'm sure it won't be quite that easy but still

Its' not hard. I did it on my olds a few years ago. Just make sure that you block the wheels. I had dad leverage the engine up and he got it up high enough for the park pawl to disengage. Sucker rolled back on my foot.

ha. good thing you have two feet!

thoughts on solid motor mounts? while i'm there its an option. assuming someone makes them... pro's? con's?

Replace it with a factory style mount. Solid motor mounts will also require solid transmission mounts. Things get very ugly if you mix solid and rubber mounts.

not anymore I don't. I waited too long to go get it checked out, the crushed foot got gangrene and I had to get it amputated.

Very unpleasant.

ur kidding.... hope ya got an automatic!!!!

the auto doesn't get driven any more. has a missing rear window, and consequently a tiny (and by tiny I mean major) mold problem.

Just gotta learn to drive 1 footed.

Solid motor mounts are retarded for most applications. You will feel every vibration from the engine all over your vehicle. A new replacement motor mount will be plenty strong and should last a long time.
