Exhaust Leak

So, I have a pretty noticeable (In car by noise) exhaust leak, Coming from what I believe is where the manifold meets the precat, My father however, Is telling me it's coming from the manifold itself. Now, To replace the manifold I have to drill and tap bolt's and I'm not nessicarily motivated enough to have to go through the trouble to do this, Haha. Now the question is, What is you guy's opinion on replacing the whole system with a new exhaust system and having some shop install it for me as opposed to me just replacing the manifold?

in my experience the exhaust shops don't like to touch the manifold, that's more of a mechanic issue.

Mine is leaking at the flange between the manifold and y-pipe. It's a relatively small leak and I also haven't been motivated to fix it. Mainly because I have a small head gasket leak between water and combustion, so I'm going to put in a 302 anyway.

manifolds can be a pain in the ass, especially when all the bolts break and need to be drilled out. in my opinion muffler shops should not be trusted to do this kind of repair, especially considering some of the muffler jobs ive seen the local shops do. if you want to repair it yourself, just count on having to do everything the hard way, that way you wont be dissapointed when nothing goes right.
