I have just put a new cherry bomb setup in my truck, and i was thinking about putting dual exhaust in my truck with cherry bombs since the single sounds pretty good, how would i do this with stock headers and still make it sound beastly? would i have to use a sort of Y pipe off the cat? or would it be better to just cut the cat off and run off that? There's no im testing where i live, so the cat isn't a problem, but then again how would i put duals on my truck? would it be better just to take the stock headers off and run off that? or would it not even be worth doing? any comments would be appreciated

An honest opinion? Not worth doing at all.

Cutting the cat off is a federal offense regardless of where you are located.

Adding another muffler and piping wont change the sound much...and it may just quiet it further, because in a sense, you are using two mufflers for the same amount of air flow, that is, if you keep it so the two banks come together at one point, which I highly recommend.

Because of what he said and other various monotonous rules, I cant tell you what you should do.

However what I did in the past was went to the junkyard and cut the flanges off some old cats and bolted those flanges to my headers then I welded the muflers to the flanges and had acompletely bolt on exhaust. If theres a part that I didnt mention, its prolly cuz I left that part out of the exhaust. Gains are minimal, but I like the sound better without some parts. If you do duals, you will need a decent h-pipe or x pipe or osme sort of crossover , things just work better that way.

honestly a v6 is probably gonna sound better in a catback setup if anything... true duals is overkill.. and 3 cylinders on one pipe sounds kinda strange

If ya just want it louder then use an adapter for bigger pipe and use a bigger diameter glass pack. Just use as long a muffler as you can so it dont sound "blatty".
