- If you expect the worst and hope for the best, you're already planning for failure.
So today I completed the repairs to me exhaust and it sounds pretty beefy I must say. Low tone and sure doesn't sound like an import even though it's only a little Lima 4cyl. Below are pictures of the new and the old. Some one suggested going through Amazon for parts I needed and I will say that it was the best thing for my situation. Also as an added "I know more about what I'm doing than I think", I never really measured length or pipe diameter because the old pipe changed sizes in a few places and to me looked way to small. I just looked up what the "factory" size of pipe was supposed to be and went from there. I pick up a 2.5 to 2.25 reducer and appropriate band clamps just in case. Once I started mounting every thing, it all came out in the exact spot I wanted it to and even had a perfect place for the new hanger to mount. I couldn't be more satisfied with how it turned out. Now I just need a decent tip to finish it.
As an aside, in recent weeks I have also replaced my old cracked windshield, replaced the driver side wiper arm, new wiper blades, seat covers with matching steering wheel cover and upgraded my instrument cluster to an 01 Sport Trac model and "cleaned" the green tint off the back side so the blue LEDs would show better. This little monster is shaping up pretty nicely.
