Well when I took out the transmission I broke 3 of the bolts on the manifold that connects to the down pipe i tryed drill them out with a cobalt drill bit but did not work anyone have any idea's to save me some money?:annoyed:

The easiest and most hassle free way might be to just take the piece to an exhaust shop and have them either drill or torch out those studs. They do it all the time, so it should be the quickest process. Hopefully then won't charge an arm and a leg tho...

It's a bitch to get those out with the motor still in the truck..

But drilling them out is really the only way, unless you can get them out with a torch and bolt extractor socket..

Good luck. I would just keep drilling.

IF you can get them out, you can just use a longer bolt and a nut on the other side when putting it back together.

You can spray the BOTTOM side down with PB really well, and if there is enough sticking out the top you can try a round-off socket on the other side, try to pull them out the top of the hole.

Still won't be easy, but I've seen it work.
