If I can't do it...find someone to teach me
Just wondering if anybody has a good part number for the exhaust donut at the exhaust manifold to the crossover pipe? I've tried several different part numbers and all I keep getting are ones that are too big any help is great thanks

Try Rock Auto. They are usually pretty good. Pick an exhaust part for your engine. Any part and click on the info button. Usually one of the pictures in the popup window or tab will have a complete parts break down of the exhaust along with part numbers.

First off thanks for you service!! I have tried that on Rock auto but it appears from their diagram no gasket is needed at the manifold which strikes me very odd. Maybe I am just looking at it wrong.

On a 2.9 and 4.0 there's no donut gasket between the manifolds and Y-pipe (it's like a flaired joint) but I have no experience with the 3.0.

looks like it is the same on the 3.0. thinking back I don't remember one being there. But I have a terrible memory.

+1 ^^^

No donut gasket is needed, it uses a "ball and socket" seal

When you see that setup then there will be no gasket

I’ve run across the no gasket needed before. As long as the joint on both sides is in good condition, it will seal up.

Its probably leaking at the cat flange. They are prone to leaks there. Often will rust out there too.

Developed an exhaust leak at my drivers side flange. I learned on this post there is not gasket/donut. I have another question. Does the flange use bolts or studs off the manifold. I want to be prepared before I tackle the rust. TIA

I believe it’s either a stud or a bolt that threads into the one flange and acts as a stud.
Best plan is it assume everything is going to break. Plan to drill out the stud and replace it with a bolt and nut.

soak the bolts/studs with a good penetrating oil a few days before attempting to remove them.Drive it every day,or at least warm up the engine for a few days, soaking in between cycles with penetrating oil.
The hot/cool cycle combined with the oil helps penetrate the threads.
I have successfully removed rusty studs on 50 year old tractors this way.
The brand of penetrating oil I used was made by Spray On products,an old company. It had graphite in it.Here is a link:

Good luck!
