What would be a good exhaust for my 2.9,im looking for something loud and sounds good.

I was thinkin cherry bomb glass pack. How do they sound?

well what you pay for is what your going to get. check out youtube see if you can find anything there. personally im running a magnaflow muffler with the cat eliminated, and i like the deep tone

SO you arent running a cat?In TN you have to run a cat to pass emmisions so i have to leave that on there. But how long would a cherry bomb glass pack last,or do they wear out?

I have a cherry bomb in place of my stock muffler on my 88 2.9. My truck still has the original cats and it sounds pretty good IMO.

I have gotten two rangers down with a cat back with a flowmaster 40 copy and both sound good just a tad on the loud side for me.
but everyone seems to like it

I have a Cherry Bomb glasspack on my 86 2.9, and once it got broken in, it sounds pretty good actually, i also replaced my original piping with 2-1/2 inch pipe to

I personally dislike Cherrybomb Glasspack mufflers, some people like em, but i don't like the sound they produce, I would go with Flowmaster 40's on a 2.9 L, or you culd save some money and get one of those welded chambered mufflers from summitracing.com, there basically the same thing as flowmasters, except there half the price.

Thats what I'm planning on doing to mine, the cherry bomb was free so thats why i have it on mine, but i would rather a flow 40 (damn minimum wage lol)

Lol, anything u can get for free is awsome, and i agerr with u, the damn minimum wage does suck, i used to work at a grocery store foe minimum wage and it sucked, i spent entire weekends pushing carts in the parking lot all day, i hated it! After about a year and a half of that i quit, and strted lookin for another job. About that same time, my uncle called me, and asked if i wanted to help work in his shop welding up grill guards, bbq pits, and fireplaces, i was like hell yea, and so ive been workin there ever since.

something quick and easy to do, that sounds loud but good too would be just a 2 1/2in pipe thats 2ft long, hook that up after your cat and thats that.

and yes i know alot of you reading this think that would sound like ass, but it imo is a nice loud sounding exhaust for 10$.

i gutted out one of my cats and left about 2 feet of the stock pipe. to my surprise it sounds pretty good. doesnt cost nothing and it dont take long with the right tools...

but if you have a little extra cash for it i say go with a magnaflow high-flow cat with either a magnaflow muffler or a flowmaster.
