I have been looking around for some new exhaust for my 94 Ranger, 4.0 V6, 4x4. I know all the different brands but I was just wondering if anyone had some advice for me or experience with a certain brand that worked well for them. I am looking for something that will help with the horsepower but I don't want to wear ear plugs when I'm driving down the highway. Something inexpensive would be nice, and I am looking for a complete setup... headers back. I would prefer cats just to keep it legal but its not necessary in the county that I live (I know no cats is against the law and I am well aware of the consequences... thats why I would prefer them or I will re-use the ones that are on there since they are fairly new anyway). But anyway thanks for any advice anyone can give.

PS - If anyone has any exhaust laying around that they want to get rid of, I may be interested, new or used

i got 1 on mine and yes it is loud but im used to it :yahoo:

Theres a guy that drives around here in Illinois, he has a newer Ranger like a 2002 or 03 with around 4-5 inches of lift, all black truck with two 4 or 5 inch stacks comin out the bed. Its a little over the top, but I get a good laugh, I think only one is actually hooked up cuz i only see exhaust come out one of the stacks

I have a Gibson cat-back, it bolted right up no problem. It's a little loud for my taste but I'm old. For headers you may be limited to JBA's, I'm not sure, and they cost a crapload of money. Check Heddman too.

What I did on mine, I have an 88 2.9, I went to the junk yard and found an old cherry bomb, asked them how much and they said 5.00$ So I went home and removed my original muffler, tweeked my tail pipe a little bit (bent it) and bolted it on. I was amazed that it didn't have any leaks because I used some old exhaust clamps. Sounds pretty good and only cost me 5.00$!! :)

Thanks JohnnyO, I checked it out and they do have a pretty decent setup, I will definately consider it. I need the whole setup, exhaust manifolds or headers back because mine is about to rust off, the rest of the Truck is in immaculate shape, but the salt from northern Illinois finally got the best of it!
