ever buy tools that you will probably never need?

Hmmm, I bought about a 3.5" aluminum or maybe magnesium six point socket just because.... i paid $5.00. Never used it and doubt I ever will. I'll try to remember to post a pic.
 
must be an addiction, just added a Tekton 19-50mm 3/4 drive socket set to my "collection".
they'll probably see more use as adapters on the hydraulic press than on nuts 'n bolts. :icon_thumby:
 
I bought an inch-drive impact wrench to take apart a D35 TTB. I have a huge compressor that's taller than me. I put a 1/2" air hose on it. No quick connects when I use it as they restrict the air. You have to set it up just to knock a bolt loose. It will power the 1" drive impact for maybe 10 strokes. These are monster strokes though. It doesn't buzz like an impact, it thunks slowly and performs magic. This impact wrench has handles on it like an M2 50 cal. I haven't used this in 10 years.
