alright, so my 302 is in, and clean emissions are out. to go the whole way with things, id like to get rid of my evap canister. but what do i do with the little line that comes from the tank?

I believe the evap canister has to be there for inspection...

Hook it to the Evap Canister.

Evap canister should be kept around. Evap canister and EGR are two emissions parts that actually save you gas.

what do i do with the other port on the canister?

Run it to your intake if you have an open vac port (IIRC that's where it goes stock) or just cap it or something.

i fail to see how EGR can increase gas mileage? adding Co2 and other gases from your exhaust into ur combustion chamber will result in u needing more fuel to equal the power of a combustion chamber full of clean air...

thus no EGR = better mileage...

same thing happens when u get rid of EGR on diesels too...funny that eh?

At CRUISING speeds, when you don't need the full power of the engine the EGR gasses displace fresh air with hot gas thus giving you the same expansion ability with less fuel.

You use NO EGR at idle, or under acceleration because in those cases it will rob power from the engine. Its only used at cruising speeds and when its not needed its closed, costing you nothing.

Sorry to threadjack, but I can't post on my own. Hasn't been fixed yet.....Anyway, how do you know if your evap canister is still good?? I have been getting pesky EGR codes but have replaced egr, position sensor, etc... and if you know how to fix my "can't post cause there is no button " problem that would be cool too.

whats the code?

31 and 33. Was getting the 31.....found I had a bad egr....replaced it now I have a 33

did you replace the flow sensor? Not sure if that's what you are calling the position sensor.

If you did then if may be a blocked up tube or a bad wire. PFE and DPFE codes are almost always the sensor though.

I changed what I have been told is the valve position sensor. Sits above the EGR and has a vacuum line and wire harness coming out from underneath it. Square black thing. Exchanged it with a used one not a new one. EGR itself was brand new. Wires seem ok. Unplugged the hole that goes up into the plenum behind the throttle body.....Maybe two bad flow sensors/position sensors???
