Escorts 2nd SAS

I'm planning a run to Badlands in Attica the end of this month. So I have a long list of things to get done on the ranger and the tow rig before I make the trip. This will be my first time at the Badlands so I need to hurry up and get the list of things done before time runs out.

One of these days I'll make it up there...

Tomorrow I try out the trailer rig. Had to cancel it last weekend for my brother had to borrow the ranger.

Will see how well it pulls the trailer before I make any long distance trips with it. Also yesterday I got the exhaust on the super duty.

Sounds good are you 4" from the turbo back? btw did you do the 4" intake as well? Sounds like to me it's flowing more air into her by the turbo is whining.

Yes, 4" from turbo back. That's all I've done to it so far.

I have a 99 with the 7.3 after I did the 4" intake&exhaust I put a tuner on it and with in 6 short months I smoked the trans. Later I learned the trans work well in stock form but not so well with an extra 100hp. Plus I was towing in OD which it tends to starve the trans for oil. I'm not sure if theres any diff. from yours to mine, but I do know that the 6.0 has more hp/torque than the old 7.3psd do.

On a side note what a good steering linkage/track bar setup for a 94 ranger d30 sas? The axle came with the stock linkage from the wrangler. I've been looking on the net and on TRS but I've been coming up empty handed for info.

The stock jeep steering will work but needs modified to accept the ranger tierod at the pitman to draglink. Or just fabricate your own like I did.

If I remember right, the left ranger TRE is what screws into the jeep linkage, but don't hold me to that.

I'm rocking stock xj linkage on my d30 swap but it will only take so much.

I'm not planning on doing anything rough with it. It's mostly going to be my hunting rig. The powerstroke is too noisy to sneak in with...

If your doing new steering, may as well go with 1 ton steering. JCR has some really good stuff. Uses gm 1 ton tie rid ends. Have to drill and taper the knuckles and pitman, but stronger all around. Will last longer.

And honestly, at that point, may as well go OTK for better clearance.

If its just a hunting truck stock will be fine. Just have to make it work at the pitman.

Personally I'm ordering up the 1 ton OTK setup.

The only problem is I'm out of work so my income is limited. I've picked up some work twisting wrenches. So far I'm only into my sas for 900.

That's pretty good. I'm into mine for $200. But all I have is the axle and a set of 35" tires to use as rollers lol.

Saving up so I can but the parts to build up the axle first. Once its build and ready to roll I'll buy the rest of the parts. Fun times.
