Nice. Looks like a nice truck!

Seems like a good price and the mileage is low for a diesel. Question is, what made the first transmission go out to where it needed a rebuild.

Nice, I'd say get it just from the description. I'd say the first trans went from the power adders...

The power adders have me concerned some.

Being a powerstroke does it really need more power, I've been in a few when towing that were stock and they seemed to do fine.

If anything, just remove them. A new trans and rear end says it has had a lot of power put to them from the engine. Go over it with a fine tooth comb. What it sounds like it needs is a good transmission cooler with its own fan.

Bryan, the tuning concerns me as in it might have been ran hard and too hot. I know what I need to look for so hopefully it's a good find. If not I'll keep looking.

That's a no go on the truck.
The guy got pissed when I told him it wasn't worth $5000. Told him the rings were shot from all the blow by coming out of the oil fill cap. He said it was serviced regularly and was reliable. Well, it was already warmed up when I got there, that's a sign that he is trying to hide something. The antifreeze reservoir that's on top of the radiator was cracked and looked like it had over heated or over pressurized the cooling system, and while running wasnt building pressure, was able to easliy squeeze the upper radiator hose. Exhaust manifolds were cracked and leaking. There was 2 to 4 inches of oily sludge on every part of the drive train from engine to rear axle. Both pinion seals were leaking. The interior was trashed, wires hanging from under the dash. Exposed wires under the hood. Tons of bondo and was repainted. The drivers front fender and front door didn't line up, front bumper was pushed back... I can keep going, there was so much wrong with it.

So the picture in the add was not of the truck I take it.

No, the picture was the truck. That's why they were from a distance and no pics were of the interior or of the engine.

Yes it was too good to be true

Picked up a tool cabinet to start organizing the garage. The tool box I have is so small that it so hard to find anything.

I have the same issue but I don't want (okay I do but no need) every tool in the world.
