Escorts 2nd SAS

Here's what I found out...
no highsteer on dodge d44, unit bearing, cad axle. they do have a parallel 4 link, so you'll want to cut that off and start fresh.
yes there is the cable upgrade, but a 1 piece shaft would be better IMO.

rear is chrysler 9.25, not a highly recommended axle in our world. C-clip, semi-float, 31 spline...
not a huge step up from the Ford 31 spline 8.8

Well....that answers that question. I offered $100...and he said sure. Guess I just tell him never mind.

Well considering ford didn't offer a half ton solid axle truck for that time period...I would say no.

Before those days, when they did have soild axles.

Dodge is gone. Someone offered him cash for the whole truck as a whole. That's ok cause I really didn't want to mess with them.

So...... I've decided to look for some 1 ton axles. Something that does not have unit hub bearings.
So I am looking at buying a 92 F350 that has no engine or drivetrain and no bed or doghouse.

Bad part is it has 300k miles so axles probably need complete rebuild, and was sitting on the ground for years with no wheels. Talked to the guy today and he says come look at it and make an offer.

I think it has a Dana 60 and 10.5 from what I was told.

With all that said, what would be a reasonable price to offer him? Keep in mind I would have to drive 60 miles one way and find a trailer to tow it home.

I paid $500 just for my stock 87 Dana 60, that's is the going price. Rear axle is worth another $100. If you give him $600, then you have scrap money coming back to you

Rears a 10.25 not a 10.50.

Up here itd be easily 800-900... but everythings more here lol

My kingpin 60 goes for $1200....
