I had to redo the steering because the tab for the draglink was to tall and was also hitting the swaybar tabs. This also was creating a huge dead spot in the steering.

This would make the tierod rotate when turning the wheel creating the dead spot.

I wanted to get rid of the TRE and go with HIEM to help eliminate the tierod twisting. And to get rid of the large tab for the draglink, I made it over-the-knuckle.

To make it OTK, I had to remove the swaybar tabs from the axle and relocate the trackbar mount.

Here you can see where I cut and trimmed the swaybar tabs and removed the excess coil mount area. And the relocated trackbar mount from Rusty's.

Looking good.

I like where you mounted the sway bar links to the inner c's. I may have to do that.

Thanks, I wish I would of gone this route first.

These were from Rusty's. I was skeptical at first but worked out well.

Thanks.

I will shorten them today. These pics were taken right before I took it for a test drive.

I have decided I hate the lockright and going to pull it out after Bundy Hill trip next month.
And since there are limited options for 28 spline lockers, I will be getting a 31 spline 8.8 soon. That way I have more options besides the Lockright!

If it was a 31 spline i would buy it off ya lol. I am still running the LS out back...

I assume the gears from the 28 8.8 will go right into the 31 8.8. Be sure to get an open diff 31 8.8.

Why don't you like the lock right?

Did you pre-heat that inner C? Either way, I'd think that would have created a stress point and now a weak spot in the already weak D30 C's. Other than that, it looks great.

I absolutely love my Aussie locker in my 31 spline 8.8. It's so damn quiet you dont even realize it's there most of the time.

I've had it with how much play it makes the rear driveline have. Not so bad in 2wd, but this week with the snow on the roads makes the front do most of the work then the front tires start to loose traction and the rear will kick it sideways all while doing 35mph on packed snow. I'm half tempted to pull it now and go back to open diff!

That is what I have in my 44. Love it.
