recently found some Escort GT seats for 35 bucks a piece!!! thats a steal at my local junkyard trust me
Now i think Jim Oaks put these in his ranger?? Anyone else done it??
whats the difference?? do they sit lower?? cause i dont want to sit lower:D
The reason im considering getting these seats is because mine are all burnt from the previous owner smoking in it

just a warning, they must be 1990 or older. 91 and newer are way different, not a bolt in swap.

I second that, I just bought and returned a set from a 96 escort, they aren't even close.

They shouldn't be much if any lower because you're going to be using your original Ranger seat tracks/brackets.

I have Thunderbird TurboCoupe seats in mine and the height is perfect.

With some modifications to the seat mounting bolt holes or to the track brackets, whichever is easier, you should be able to get them to work, you may even have to make a custom bracket if they are to narrow or to wide. I fit Windstar seats into my Ranger I had to drill a hole in the back of the seat mount on each seat, and drill a new hole on the Ranger seat track and then drill into the floor of the ranger (since i had the full bench originally. It wasn't to hard to do after i figured out how to do it, the hardest part was experimenting with track positions on how to get them to sit right, and sit right on the floor of the truck. afterwords, they looked like they came from the factory with them. If you want them in your truck bad enough, you will find a way, it may not be the easiest, but if you're determined enough, it will be worth it in the end.

i have a couple 91 escort gt seats out of the car that i can go measure and take pics of if you're interested. it would give you something to compare to anyways. the problem is that the 91 and newer escorts are built on a mazda designed chassis, so everything is built to mazda spec, but like shoeboy said, nothings impossible. i've got thunderbird seats in my truck and they were not at all a bolt in swap.

Are the Escort GT seats different from the regular Escort seats? I've got a 94 Escort and I'm pretty sure I like my Gen 2 Ranger buckets better...
