I have a 2004 ford ranger with a 3.0. It has 78,000 miles and as far as I know has been very well maintained. I have only had it for 7 months. I recently fixed a bad fuel injector problem that solved the really rough idle. But the truck still has a slight shimmy to it. It drives fine and gets good gas mileage. I checked the throttle body bolts and upper intake bolts torque and they were all good. What is up with this, its not terrible just aggrivating.
