engine won't start ?

I need some help! I have a 1997 3.0l . In the morning I go to start my truck , it tries to but it dies . Sometimes it takes two or three tries , later on in the day it starts with no problem ? I have replaced my plugs , wires and it still does the same thing ? any ideas on what it could be ? The engine does have more than 500,000 km on it and doesn't use oil or have any leaks of any kind , what kinds of things need replacing ?

Check the IAC valve to see if it is in spec. Should be able to obtain restance range from service manual.

That could be a number of things. Start out with cheap & easy-to-check stuff. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? If you move the key to the "on" position, wait a few seconds, and then go to "start" does it improve things?
