my dad just gave me a call that his truck stoped running when he was in line at the dump, it is an 88 ranger 2.9 L there is still gas in the tank but it will not start, it is not the battery because it turns over, it just wont start, does anyone know why this could be?

It could be many things, but if I had to take a guess I would say ignition module or you might check the inertia switch also to see if it tripped. It's just to the right of the hump behind the carpet on the passenger side firewall.

On my Ford Escort it was on the distributor body.

Is there fire at the plugs?
Do you hear the fuel pump when you 1st turn on key?
Is there pressure at the injector rail?
