engine wont run after filter change

The engine would bog down and black smoke came out exhaust when it bogged.I changed the fuel filter now it wont run.It idles but when i give it gas it dies.Makes me think its starving for gas.

The fuel filter should of had an arrow on it for flow. This may sound dumb, but did you put in the right way. I'm not sure if it would cause your problem, but it's something to check.

It’s your fuel pressure regulator that needs checking.
