Hey yall i just had a question, has anyone done a diesel swap on a ranger before?

i have a 4 cylinder 96 ford ranger and down the line was thinking about throwing a 4 cylinder diesel in there. is it worth it?

Also does it make more power?

Its been done.

It totally depends on the diesel you plan on swapping.

A 302 would net more power (generally) and be cheaper.

oh awesome, i was thinking a cummins turbo diesel like every diesel swap is. cummins i would have to fab motor mounts though right?

Any diesel you will need custom mounts.

Generally diesels make more torque for the same horsepower, that's why they are slower, but can usually haul more weight per cubic inch.

Just Google: 4bt swap

Loads of info in general and for Rangers
