Is something like a '94 2.3 a plug and play swap into an '87 ranger(that has a 2.3)? Or are there wiring/computer changes throughout the years that would effect this?

Basically what I want to know, is what year 2.3 engines can I put into my '87, with no additional work.

I did some research on this and the answer is no it cant be done without extra work. I think it can be done by putting your head (87) on the newer block but maybe someone else can shead more light on this Hope this helps Bill
