Engine swap

I have a 96 ranger 4wd that the transmission is bad in. I have found a 2000 model that has a bad engine. The 2000 model appears to be in much better shape than my 96. Would it be possible without too much trouble to swap the engine from my 96 to the 2000? I havent had much luck find a transmission for a reasonable price.

I would think you can swap the long block and just pur your bolt on onto the engine and be fine

Know anyone at a salvage yard? They have a guide that lists which parts would need to be swapped.

I appreciate it but the truck sold before I had a chance to look at it. Back to square 1
