Hello I'm fairly new to the forum. I have read alot of threads but I dont think I have commented or posted since I'm not very knowledgeable with auto mechanics. Just recently within the last year have I started working on them. Partly out of necessity but partly because I'm finding out i enjoy it... although i cuss the whole time lol... got a question for you guys. .. i got a 95 ranger 3.0l automatic with I'm pretty sure a blown head gaskets caused by a lack of antifreeze circulation. ( I think) I also have a 200 explorer with a 4.0l 4 wheel drive problem with the explorer is I believe the previous owner kept it park in a muddy lake. Whole bottom end is rusted out, spension is shot all to hell. God knows what else... I feel it's dangerous to drive. Gotta ask although its probably gonna sound stupid especially once someone tells me the obvious.. could the 4.0l in the explorer drop down in the ranger? Both are automatics but the explorer is 4 wheel drive. idk if that makes any difference or not. I dont really have any money tied up in either one of these vehicles I'm just trying to figure out what to do with them. I would like to fix at least one of these vehicles as my second means of transportation. Not gonna get much out of either one if I sell and keeping seems like a better option then getting another monthly vehicle payment that's more than my mortgage. any suggestions or words if knowledge?

Hello Poor Fella, that's me too! :D Welcome to TRS! I think we all started twisting wrenches mostly because we had to, in one way or another ;)

I'm not very knowledgeable about anything but the twisting wrenches part, and find it increasingly harder to keep up with those anymore, but I do think you're on the right track....... and in the right place :)

You'll find problems with the assorted parts you have available, but I believe it's all very do-able, as well as beneficial(and commendable), If you've got the spunk! (maybe even profitable)

I'm hoping more of the fine folks here will chime in for ya, I'd not wish to get you all mixed up with the details right off the bat, so I'll just wish you well with it.

It IS a doable project
