Good afternoon - swapped a 2003 Ranger 4.0 into our 2001 Ranger 4.0 and got codes: P1401 & P0340

Swapped Cam Sensor - same code. Started looking into wiring and noticed mechanic stuffed this plug down behind wiring on driver's side of motor above valve cover. Anyone know where it goes and if it is contributing to these codes? Thanks!

UPDATE - a little research and it looks like a 2003 motor doesn't have EGR or DPFE correct?

Is there anything I need to do for this 2003 into a 2001 swap that the mechanic didn't do?
• Install the 2001 emissions (looks like the EGR is installed, but not the DPFE)
• anything else?

Sounds like you're on the right track.
