I have a 1988 ford bronco II and I recently put in a 1993 ford explorer 4.0 engine and did struggle with wiring but now im facing another issue and that issue being the exhaust sucking in air and the intake blowing out air i made sure the engine ran before i took it out but now the engine is doing this. Does anyone know why this is happening and how i can fix it?

P.S
The car at the moment does not have an exhaust

It sounds like a timing chain skipped on a sprocket or one broke. So a cam shaft is out of time or is not moving at all and the valves are open. The only way I can think to see what side it is, is to do a compression test. Which ever side isn't building compression is the side to look at.

Do you believe it might be a bent valve

Do you believe it might be a bent valve

Could be but that would only expain air coming out one side, unless both valves are bent. From what you are describing, it sounds like both the exaust and intake valves are at least partially open. The exhaust shouldn't be sucking and the intake shouldn't be blowing. So something isn't right.

The compression test would help narrow down where to look before you start pulling valve covers and/or the timing chain covers.
