My truck will be running fine, and then suddenly start to stall or bog way down like it's gunnu die and it has no power. Then it will continue running fine again. We took it out snow wheeling and ran all the 5 year old gas that was sitting in it out,and put in some new stuff. That improved it a bunch, but every once in a while it will bog way down again. If I just keep my foot on the gas and not let off when it does it,it will go on for about 5-15 seconds then it will kick in and take off. I've replaced the fuel filter along with many other stuff but nothing seems to fix it. We think it might be the fuel pump but not sure. Has anyone experienced this and know what it is or might be?

Agreed with Holyford86 getting the codes is the best place to start.

running the 5 yr old gas out wasn't the best thing to do....shoulda drained as much out as possible and put 10gal. , or so, of fresh in....then had your fun.

In essense, you have put varnish through out your whole fuel system and engine.

the symtoms that your discribing can be a multitude of things or combination of things...so to say this or that item is the problem at this point...is just going to make you more frustrated and disappointed. Well, you're prolly already there.

Change the fuel filter again might not be bad idea to have a couple on hand...concidering the old gas thing.

what has been changed?

Really? Aww man...well that's a problem. That sheds a whole new light on it to me now. Well I've got all new plugs and wires, changed the oil and put in new oil filter, new air filter, new battery and starter, the new fuel filter is on there, ummmmm,I think that's about it related to the engine. Just a little tune up. I've done some other stuff but not concerning the engine. The day we brought it home I did put $40 worth of premium gas into the old stuff....there was about a little less than a quarter tank of old gas in it....and I put in a thing of injector cleaner with it. Prolly not too much help with all that old stuff.

my pump went out the same way... I'd put money on that being the issue....

on a vehicle that old, I'd say it should get done anyway.... mine went out on the way to work, so it cost me a lot more than the tow truck and parts.....

Maybe there's water in your gas tank. Try adding dri-gas to get it out.

My truck did the same thing,it'll be running great for a long time and start acting up.I'd mash on the gas and it would clear up and start it again. If you're still having problems, check the emissions lines coming off of the egr.I checked mine and noticed part of the green line was diconnected from the other half in the wire loom.I replaced expensive parts that didn't need replacing.Knock on wood,it's been running great now but still waiting for it to act up.Hope this helps!

Shit mines doing the same thing brah and I changed everything you did...
I'm stuck with a boggin truck for now... Anyone have other ideas? Ima call a braddah tomorrow n see what's up let u know. N lemme know if u find anything

When my truck starts gettin' low on fuel,1/4 tank,it starts acting up,very strange.:headbang:

I'd test/replace the Fuel Pressure regulator as well. Run a can of BG44k with a full tank of gas too, that should clean your injectors and all those goodies pretty well.

Cyclical bogging or stumbling can be a bad O2 sensor. Easy to check. Try disconnecting the O2 sensor on the Y-pipe.
