engine noise from speakers

i cant figure out what the hell is going on. every so often i get engine noise coming out of my speakers and its driving me nuts, anybody have any ideas as to what i can do to fix it.

Is it static noise? There is a condenser on the battery connector to eliminate that...check a user's guide for the Radio and you should see one in the circuit somewhere...easy enough to replace...

also try moving the ground for the radio, or amp if you run one, directly to the battery that will also take care of the problem

make sure your running a resistor type spark plug (most are these days). depending on the year of the truck, you may have a failed ignition coil condenser.

i had the same problem on my boat after i put on my new amp and on the instructions for the amp it told me to run a ground from the battery to the chassi of the radio

hey sorry for not responding sooner. forgot i posted. yeah i do have an amp but it only runs the sub. the noise is coming from the passenger side speakers (front and rear). i grounded the amp onto my trucks chassis to eliminate any ground loop just in case but no dice. its still there. the noise is an ignition sound. kinda like a ticking and occasionally some alternator whine

"Every so often" you get it? Try running a grounding strap wire between the hood and the cowl.

a ticking? check your spark plug wires....ones "leaking".
