Does not use any oil, has about 71,000 on the last rebuild.
The gas tank is only a few years old. Compression is good, fuel pressure is good. I ran a code checker on the computer and it told me all was fine. Is there anything that the code checker would not check? I really think this is something simple like a sensor or something, I just don't want to start replacing stuff blindly until I find the problem.
Okay, here is the latest. When I start it, it runs real rough. I drive it and when I get up into the RPMs and get going around 45 and up it smooths out and runs great. All kinds of power and throttle response. At low speeds it runs like it has a real bad miss and the throttle is real sluggish. When I come to a stop it runs rough. When I am driving and I just take my foot off the throttle it starts running rough again. I checked the Ignition Module, put a new cap, rotor, wires and plugs in it. Nothing. I rechecked all of the other stuff from before. I also took the IAC off and cleaned it. Nothing. Could it be the TPS? This thing is driving me nuts.
Well, I guess all of this doesn't matter anymore. The engine made a rattling noise and locked up yesterday. Anyone know where the cheapest rebuild kits are being sold?
