engine comparison

I have a tired 89 Ranger with the 2.9 V-6

I have a chance to pick up a good 89 Merkur 2.9

Can I swap this engine ----basically the block and heads? I was hoping to just swap all the Ranger stuff to this long block. What do ya think?

Could I use the Merkur intake? or is it not worth the trouble?

the murkur is identical to the truck 2.9 in every way except for the fact that the intake is different, its not worth the time to swap the heads and intake, nor will you see any gains from doing so
