engine bay fire

Hi im new here i have an 88 Bronco II ive had it for a few months it was left for me by my uncle i have some questions yesterday i changed the water pump an thermostat afterwards i got everything working good did no electrical work at all but as i went to answer my phone i came back out an my truck was on fire it started near the coolant reservoir melted my vapor canisters cruise control servo master cylinder reservoir an all the wiring harnesses on the Driver side fender any idea what could've caused the fire were there any recalls for that year model thanks

the main feed spade gets corroded loose sometimes and i have seen it cook a few rides.

usually a 8-10 ga orange and black or black and orange wire. loops around with the light harness to the power side of the starter relay. the fuselink pops and usually people just jump it together and forget to put a inline fuse back in...

Mine fell apart in my hands when I was trying to trace a wonky wire...

Might have a bit of a time finding parts for that model year...but if you can't find them maybe someone on here has a spare they can send you...of whatever...there are parts for sale in one of the sections below...I had a rather generous member send me a complete front wire clip...but it appears you need a bit more than that...

May be able to buy some things new or refurbished though...
