I have a blown 2.3 engine in my 83 ranger and can get an 86 runner to drop in what has to be done to the newer eng to change from fuel injection to the original carb? am in a pinch any help will help.
If the manifolds will interchange you are in business. A good check would be to check manifold gaskets and see it the same gaskets fit both engines.

The fuel injected intake manifolds have a different port shape and I believe bolt pattern than the carbureted ones, but if your old head is still good then if you swap the heads you are good to go as EVERYTHING else is the same.
