you have to keep all of it, it will throw a light if you mess with it, and it's the evap system so it won't pass inspection in many states if you pull it off.
think you should start with a little frame clean up and paint lol...
if you do a fuel cell, you can by pass it... now getting rid of the code? idk... take out the CEL bulb? lol. i've read a build on here where the guy did it, and dealt w/ it for a couple years then just put it all back on.. he couldn't figure it out. plus, it all has a purpose... if you plan on seeing any street use w/ it, i'd leave it. remount it as needed, but leave it on.
You need to go learn a LOT more about vehicle emissions systems before asking about ripping things out.
The evap system captures evaporating fuel for later use. It is easily relocated too, so if it's in your way there get some line and scoot it somewhere else.
