am having trouble with electronic transfer case replaced open control module 4x4 worked once then module went open again have checked wiring found no bare wires could there be something in the shift motor that is causing the module to short had replaced the dash switch before this problem started so it is ok

I am having trouble with the electronic transfer case, and have replaced the open control module. 4x4 worked once, then the module went open again. I've checked the wiring and found no bare wires. Could there be something in the shift motor that is causing the module to short? Before this problem started I had replaced the dash switch so it is ok.

What do you mean, the "module went open"? Are you referring to a fuse, in particular, or are you measuring something in a specific location?
