i know this has probably been put on here before ,but i put a new motor on my transfer case and it worked fine ,I was climbing a hill the other day in 4 low amd when i took it out it went back to 2 wheel drive and now i cant get it back in 4 x4 at all ,the cmputer is on and clicks when i try but the motor will not engage.Could the motor have gone out again it aint 3 weeks old or could the computer for 4x4 have a short or something.

Check the motor connections/plug, its possible you have a weak/loose/dirty connection. Clean it as best you can then put some dielectric grease on the plug and Terminals before plugging it back in...

I just opened a 1350 electric last night, and noticed the following...

there are 3 "other" wires that go to the back of the case, right near the rear output shaft, the dual set in the black plastic thing are a switch, the third wire by itself, is a "magnetic clutch".

I don't own an electric driven ranger (mines manual) but was robbing parts from the other x-fer case when I noticed the differences between the two types of x-fer cases.

I would assume the computer applies power to the mag-clutch confirms the movement with the switch, THEN energizes the selector motor.... (Strictly assumption).
