Electric to manusl swap in a live axle truck

you just listed about every option the ranger has availible...that is not a plain jane truck!

usually v-6 extended cabs got 8.8's...i wonder if your axle got swapped at some point (that is unless youve owned the truck since new).

i have not owned the truck since new , but the axle code on the door jamb is 86 , which , according to this site is a open 7.5 with 3.73 gears , and there were more options , it could have had the off road package and the bigger wheels , the stock tires and wheels for this truck are 235/75R15

true it could have more options, but you have more optional features than not. a plain jane truck is 2wd, standard cab, short box, manual trans, windows, locks, mirrors, non a/c, steel wheels, 4 banger, etc etc.

doesnt surprise me that you have a 7.5...like i said ford was really good at mixing and matching their axles. seems like somedays they just tossed in whatever was closest.

but at any rate back to the topic, i would still try and find an 8.8. 3.73 l/s is a very common setup and most junkyards wouldnt charge any more for an 8.8 than they would a 7.5.

the problem with finding a 8.8 l/s in my area is that there are very few junkyards and even fewer rangers in them , and almost all the rangers in the junkyards are 2wd
