The ranger I just recently got has an electric rear sliding window... Is that common? or what? I have no idea. When I use the switch on the dash below the lights I can hear the motor work but the window just stays in the same place, although I can slide the window by hand. The First picture is a picture of the motor and it is mounted in the back part of the cab on the floor. Can someone tell me something about them?

both the switches dont look factory to me......how many owners has she had?.....can you talk to the last owner?

yeah im pretty sure thats not a factory option.

Clifford is a manufacturer of alarm systems. If this light goes on that may be part of the alarm system. I'm unfamiliar with the mechanism that moves the window.

Interesting...

The rear power window is aftermarket. It probably cable operated off the floor mounted unit. I'd check inside that part for something wrong.

Clifford alarm... its in valet mode.

Yes, but the open rear window may be triggering the light.

Look very deeply into the wiring under the dash and try to find the Clifford controller. Mine will not start if the light is solidly lit.

The alarm is Clifford as others and the name plate says. The light stays on because it is in failure mode. Do you have the remote for the unit. If not I would just disconnect it. It should be either "out" if not armed or "blinking" if armed.

The power rear window was a aftermarket unit I believe seeing it in a JCWhitney catalog in the early 90's.

I dont have the remote for the alarm system and that little red light stays on 24/7... it killed my battery when I didnt start the truck for a couple days. Any thoughts on where to start looking for the Clifford thing? and is it hard to remove?

Also the window thing does have a cable running off the left side of it up through the back panels and to a little black thing that sits on the inside of cab up against the window but it doesnt move?

Kinda sounds like the drive gear might be stripped or the cable is broken inside the box. I'd start tearing stuff apart.
