I am going to build a center console and put my oil pressure, water temp., and voltmeter in the console. I checked out the some electric retro gauges on sunpro.com.

I need to know if i can just use the my original oil sender and temp sender?

The other question is the fuel gauge they have says you have to use their sending unit but will my sending unit work?

one more question i have to change out the speedometer and i found a mechanical one, made by autometer, at jcwhitney that goes up to 80 mph and needed to know if i could use the same cable?

I had the same deal with my oil pressure gauge made by intellitronix.Bought just the gauge and then They told me that you have to use their pressure sending unit for the fact that if you use the exisiting unit it may cause the readings to be wrong on the gauge you bought. IM not sure if it would be the same for temp. Im sure you can give them a call ask. I hope this helps a little.

i was reading on the tech page under ENGINE TECH, sub title OIL & FILTERS, and topic OIL SENDER REPLACEMENT and it looks like the guy who wrote the article used the same sender that is on my truck for his after market oil pressure gauge.
I was thinking it might work without paying another $20 for their sender.

I still need to know about the fuel gauge and speedometer?

Fuel level: No your sender wont work right. (your sender should be 16/158 ohms, that one needs a 240/33 ohm sender.)

Thanks for the fuel gauge info that was a big help. I found one at Oreilly's auto that is going to work.

I beleive i have the rest of my gauge questions answered. When i went to Oreilly's auto i talk to one of the guys i know there and he explained everything for me about there gauges that i wanted. so thanks for all your responses.

I really appreciate it.

the ohm reading on mine is 73 ohms empty / 10 ohms full not 16/158.

still i appreciate that posts because it help lead me to the right answer.

The earlier trucks had the lower value senders, the later ones had the higher value senders. Don't recall when they changed them.

Between 88 and 89.

the sending unit ranges are: 73-10 ohms pre-1989 and 16/158 ohms 1989-up
