My 97 2.3L ford ranger got a code for low flow EGR valve. First I cleaned everything from EGR to pipe leaving EGR valve. Put it back together and it did not fix the code. So I bought a new EGR valve and replaced it, but code is coming back. Not sure what the next step would be.

Probably the EGR Differential Pressure Sensor or DPFE.

My truck had been running terrible, bought one of these off of Ebay for $29, changed the hoses also and all is better. I haven't checked codes again yet but drive ability is much better. The one off ebay looks to be a rebuilt one, the DPFE is a patented device. The old part number is milled off on the one I got, other than that it is identical to the original part.

i vote for DPFE sensor if the control solenoid/valve is ok.
