Hello everybody, I have a 1990 Ford ranger 4.0 HOV I was wondering if there was an EGR valve on the truck?

90? Not likely unless it's California emissions. Even then it should be pretty easy to tell by looking at the exhaust manifolds. If neither of them have a tube running back to the intake, then no.

Awesome thank you. I was also wondering about a slight ticking nose around the valve cover. it’s intermittent on for a few seconds then goes away completely then slowly comes back and just repeats. I was told it may be my oil pump.

Hard to say without doing some tests or exploratory surgery. The most common 4.0 tick is apparently pushrods/rocker arms wear.
