have afreind with 90 xlt that has no egr valve. he says most of the 2.9's did not come with them. i got one in the 88 but the wires do not have anything to plug into. whats the story?

Under federal emmissions, only the 86 and 87's had egr valves. California emmissions may be different but can't confirm or deny. What wires are you refering to on the egr system?

FWIW, My '88 Ranger manufactured in 10-87 did not have EGR.

wire coming from the egr area that go back under the intake manifold and then stop. I wonder if my 88 ranger was built with one of the last run 87 motors in the early part of the year? could explain why i got it.
