Egr valve solonid wiring

So how important is this little vacuum deally bob? Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Mine is wired very poorly and custom looking.

The engine will run without it, but it's better if things are working correctly.

it has a battery lead + wired into the red wire, why would someone do this..? any ideas?

The EGR stopped working and they figured out it had no power coming in?

The EGR solenoid is always hot in run, and the computer grounds it to get EGR flow. It is a hack job, but it's not hurting anything like that.

I pulled it off ant it runs loads better..

Then you have issues with it stay open some.
