Does anyone know of a online resource for Ford pinpoint tests for EEC-IV ,specifically 87 Ranger ???? Hate to admit it but we don't have any of the early stuff at work :no2:

Two thoughts.....

I have went on ebay and bought the factory service manuals (usually two volumes, along with the EVTM manual and the powertrain diagnosis manual) for every modern car/truck I've bought.

Also check out Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Controls by Probst. There two volumes that cover the EEC-IV era.

Thanks for the tip. Found this

Bit more $$ and farther away than I'd like.

That's way too much. If you can wait just keep looking at the eBay listings regularly; if you're patient you should be able to pick up a Ford manual for a lot cheaper. But if you have to have it right away, you're stuck with paying higher. The Probst books are good, too; those and the Ford manuals are well worth having.

if you tell me year, make and model. engine and what code you are looking for a pinpoint test for, I can get that for you. just email me the info at fordman@i2k.com. I have 2 information systems. All data, and MOD

Thanks but I managed to find a PC/ED for 1986. Close enough. My problem now is it didn't help. Code 84 will not go away yet I can't find anything wrong. Had the EEC tech look at it as well. No luck. Swapped PCM's , DTC 84 still there. Time to install a 347 CID.!!!!!
