Last weekend my check engine light came on so I attempted to get the codes out of the computer. I am consistently getting a code 22 (MAP out of range) Does anyone know what this actually means/ Does it mean I have a bad MAP Sensor? I replaced about 2 yrs/6,000 miles ago and fixed a problem where it wouldn't run under about 2,000 rpm but the check engine light never came on. Also does anyone know if the computer will indicate a Hard Code if the O2 Sensor is bad - are the 2 possibly related?

thanks in advance for any feedback.

Just an FYI for any one else who might encounter this code - I spent some more time on the problem and I did in fact need to replace the MAP Sensor which was made by GP Sorenson and only lasted about 6,000 miles - the clerk at Advance Auto was nice enough to let me try the new MAP Sensor with the option of returning it if it didn't fix the problem.

If their allowing you the option to return it....go with that!!

I'd also look at vacuum lines and electrical connections associated with MAP sensor. hinge more towards the vacuum lines...if your loosing vacuum to it....it maybe unable to senese correctly.
